We are excited to introduce a new initiative at Evergreen Bike Club: Girls Rides (official name TBD by the girls).
At Evergreen Bike Club, we are committed to getting and keeping more girls on bikes. We have noticed that as girls get older, many stop riding. When we have asked why, the answer has been simple: they want to ride with more girls.
The benefits of biking for girls are endless. Riding helps build confidence, teaches perseverance through challenges, fosters a love for nature, and encourages girls to support and inspire one another. It is also a chance to unplug, get outside, and have fun without distractions or judgment.
Our goal is to create a space where girls take the lead, from choosing their team name and designing their own swag to helping select routes and shape future rides.
To get started, we have planned three rides and will let the group help decide what comes next. We are also exploring additions such as a field trip to Beti Bike Bash and a high school led skills session.
Upcoming Rides:
May 10 at 3:00 PM – Celebrate Mom
Let’s celebrate moms with sweet treats and fun swag.
May 20 at 4:30 PM – Wacky Wednesday
Bring your flair. Tutus, costumes, tie dye. Show off your style.
May 31 at 10:00 AM – Sundae Sunday
Ride and ice cream.
Girls of all ages are welcome. We will split into groups to support both newer and more advanced riders so everyone feels comfortable. Riders should be able to safely ride a pedal bike with hand brakes.

EBC riders Cora and Willow competed in the Fandango bike race in Castle Rock over the weekend.
They were joined by EBC board members Leslie and Chad (not pictured), who also took on the course. Great to see all our riders and volunteers out there representing EBC!
This Spring ‘26 is my first season volunteering, so I’m a newbie.
My favorite trail is anything that goes down. I used to race downhill many moons ago and love lift fed DH. That said, I have learned to enjoy the grind of climbing in Colorado. We just moved here in July of last year.
My favorite bike is the Specialized Stumpjumper. I’ve had the last 2 generations of the bike and it’s the best all around bike on the market. Climbs well and descends like a champ.
My favorite part of volunteering with EBC is twofold. One, I get to teach and share the sport of mountain biking with both of my kids. Two, I get to share the stoke of the mountain biking with the Unicorn Dragons….. “bell check!” There is nothing better than giving back to the Evergreen community and sharing a sport I love with kids.
Post crash I always check my body first. It’s much more expensive and harder to fix than my bike .
My favorite memory so far of EBC is hearing my daughter and other girls in our blue ride group saying, “this is so much fun, I love this!”
Right now, we have very limited backup coverage. If a ride volunteer has a conflict or becomes ill, we may not have enough adults to safely support the kids on the trail.
We are looking to build a group of backup riders who can step in when needed, ideally with some advance notice. Your support will help ensure our rides run smoothly and that kids can continue to get out on the trails.
If you are interested in helping, please contact us at volunteer@evergreenbikeclub.org.
Did I mention we have a new membership program?
***Note: Membership is not required to ride with us. It simply provides added perks and helps support the club.***
We’re excited to shine a spotlight on one of our amazing sponsors, Buffalo Mountain Print & Supply!
Buffalo Mountain has been a fantastic partner to Evergreen Bike Club, generously providing a discount on our t-shirts. Thanks to their support, we’re able to outfit our members in gear that builds team spirit and keeps our community looking strong on the trails.
As a local business, Buffalo Mountain Print & Supply shares our commitment to community, quality, and supporting local organizations. Their work helps bring our club together and makes it easier for families to participate.
If you’re looking for custom printing or apparel, we encourage you to support the businesses that support our kids.
Thank you, Buffalo Mountain Print & Supply, for helping us get more kids on bikes and building a stronger riding community!
