Volunteer
Volunteer with EBC
As a 100% volunteer run, non-profit, USA Cycling chartered bike club the more dedicated volunteers we have, the more we can do together.
We have a few different volunteer roles available, but if you don't see something that you think we should have please reach out.
Volunteer on bikes: We're looking for dedicated, responsible, and passionate people that want to help lead and support rides.
Ride Leads handle check-in/check-out for ride groups, facilitating introduction and safety check, guiding a safe and fun ride for all involved, and generally managing the group including the route, "pit" stops, setting the pace, and generally setting a tone for the ride. Ride Leads should be prepared to have a bit higher level of responsibility and with that be available for a bit more training and vetting. All EBC Ride Leads are required to pass a NCSI background check, complete a Ride Lead training, and carry a basic First Aid kit on all rides. All of our Jr MTB Team Ride Leads are required to complete USA Cycling Safe Sport training.
Ride Support act as a supplement to Ride Leads to sweep the group and ensure that nobody is left behind. In EBC Jr MTB Team Ride Support can be a parent that is riding along with the group that signs up/agrees to act as that sweep position. Occasionally the Ride Lead and the Ride Support my swap for short periods to allow the Ride Lead to act as sweep in the event there's a rider that warrants extra attention.
Volunteer off bikes: We always need help with non-riding aspects of running a non-profit bike club.
Admin Support can help with marketing, communications, events, fundraising, technology, program, volunteer, and membership management. ie: Admin Support can look like helping Ride Leads with compiling rosters and assisting with ride check-in or developing marketing and communications plans and working with a Marketing Committee.
Board of Directors we will be accepting applications for Board of Directors positions in the late Fall and welcome anyone to apply. We value diversity and strive to build an equitable and inclusive bike club and this starts with our Board of Directors.
Be a Ride Lead
We're a 100% volunteer run non-profit bike club. The more volunteers we have, the more we can do. If you're not seeing a club ride you think we should have please let us know. Even better if you're interested in helping to make more rides a reality!
