Got Gear? Need Gear?

The occasional warm weather day inspires mountain bike daydreams. The smell of pine, the sound of tires eating into dirt, sweat dripping as you make the final stretch of climb before the much anticipated down (*sigh*). Winter weather brings an assortment of challenges for the trails like the mud and ice. We make due with other sports or riding a fat tire, but it is still not quite the same. 

While you wait for the trails to thaw and dry, the Evergreen Bike Club and EHS MTB team want to help get you ready for this upcoming season. On Friday April 12th, the EHS MTB team starts the weekend with a bike film fest sure to inspire riders of all abilities to get out and shred.

Next up, the Evergreen Bike club will host our first annual Gear Swap on Saturday April 13th. Not limited to just bike gear; bring all the outdoor equipment. Find that perfect part for your vintage bike build. Buy a kayak. Get rid of that snowboard you no longer ride. Swap some kids bikes because they grow too fast sometimes. Get a bigger tent for your growing family. Clear out that camping gear you haven't used in a few seasons. Buy a new backpack and climbing shoes. Bring your stuff and come look at stuff. (No weapons please) Don’t want to sit and sell your stuff? No problem. Donate it to your favorite non-profit (Evergreen Bike Club for example) so they can reap the benefits.

Local retailers will be on site too for deals on new and/or past season gear. And last but certainly not least there will be food trucks.

How to sell gear

Want to buy or sell gear?  We’ve compiled a list of thoughts to have before coming down so you can maximize your experience.

• Selling Gear?  

  • First come, first service space.

  • Gear must be clean clean and functioning.

  • Price it to sell. Check ebay or other resellers for value.

  • Bring a spec sheet for skis, bikes, SUPs in case buyers want to know the details.

  • You must accept payment. Decide if you will accept cash, Venmo, PayPal.

  • Decide how to display your gear. Bring a table, bike stand, blanket, tarp, etc… Pump up that SUP!

  • All outdoor gear is acceptable. No Weapons. Think skis, fishing rods, bikes, backpacks, boots, bike rack, kayak, car camp gear, roof rack, accessories….

  • You can sell clothes, but no changing rooms are available.

  • You are responsible for bringing home any unused items or coordinating donation of it to PTA, Echo, Replay Sports....

• Buying Gear?

  • Come with cash or Venmo, Paypal, etc… Sellers will let you know their preferred payment method.

  • Ask questions. Sellers can tell you about their items, how to use them, etc…

  • Do some research. Know what size ski, backpack or bike you might be looking for. 

  • You are responsible for bringing your gear home or coordinating with the seller. Will you need a bike rack?

Local business?

• • You must represent an outdoor recreation-related business.

  • You can sell gear or advertise an outdoor recreation related service (bike tunes, coaching, outdoor retail, guiding, etc..).

Respect the school zone. No alcohol, smoking/vaping or weapons (no selling weapons; ie: hunting gear).
